3rd Graders learned about simple circuits by adding a power source and an LED to Play Dough. Play Dough conducts electricity! To make fun creations, they added modeling clay as an insulator to keep the Play Dough from touching.

1st Graders chose from 3 exploratory stations. At the Zoob Animals station they created animals while thinking about how animals have unique characteristics to move, eat, and protect themselves. At the mosaic coloring station they looked for familiar shapes and found patters in the designs. They engineered marble mazes at the LEGO station and discovered that pathways had to be wide enough for the marble to roll.

Due to an assembly in the media center this Friday, 1st and 4th grade rotations moved to the art room.

1st graders drew color codes for the Ozobot to read. The tornado and zigzag codes were a popular move!

A group of 4th graders who already had Ozobot experience, used their knowledge of Ozo codes to create a path for their Ozobot to visit the regions of California.

4th graders in Mrs. Gardner's class wrote programs to get their Ozobot through the course. It was challenging! The Ozobots didn't always roll straight. They had to make adjustments to their code to compensate.

Digital Footprints: 2nd & 5th Grade

2nd Graders filled their footprint with information that is OK to share in a multi-player game where they can communicate with other kids. It's OK to share hobbies and favorites, but never your full name, address, school name, and birthday! Do not leave a "digital trail" for a stranger to find you.

5th graders used Google Slides to show what is already in their Digital Footprint. What websites do they visit frequently? Do they have a username or screen name that protects their identity?  Are they using the Internet to communicate respectfully?
